About

Aidan McShane Image

For more than 15 years I’ve worked at the intersection of strategy, transformation, and operational delivery — mostly in organisations where the normal answers haven’t worked and the problems in the too-hard basket have been sitting there for a while.

“I’m not a traditional project manager. My value is in the nuance — asking the curly questions, building trust with difficult stakeholders, getting to the root cause of why something isn’t moving, and creating the clarity that makes delivery possible.”

What draws me to this work is the bridge problem: the gap between where an executive team wants to go and what’s actually happening at the coalface. I’ve spent my career learning how to close that gap — by speaking both languages, understanding the structural and the political, and being willing to sit with complexity long enough to actually understand it before acting.

I work as an independent consultant because I believe the best work happens when there’s a direct relationship between the person accountable for outcomes and the person doing the thinking. No junior team. No firm agenda. Just clear-eyed, experienced judgment applied to your specific situation.

Qualifications and Credentials

An unusual combination
Most consultants come from one discipline — strategy, finance, or delivery. My background spans law, applied mathematics, business management, technology, and governance. In practice, that means I can read a contract, build a financial model, design a governance framework, and run a delivery team — often in the same engagement.
